Dowsing for Healing

What is Dowsing?

Dowsing for Healing - this is the ability to use rods, sticks or a pendulum device to answer ‘yes or no’ questions, locate items or people, diagnose illness and many other uses.

It is a wonderful way to tap into the natural intuitive ability that we all have.

I’m going to show you how to try it out for yourself.

Dowsing can be used for all manner of questions:

And many other situations.

The most well-known of these is checking for the location of water, also known as water divining or water witching.

How does it Work?

There are a few schools of thought as to how results are achieved.

Some believe the dowser’s inner subconscious ‘all-knowing’ knowledge comes into play for the answers, with subtle muscular tension moving the device.

On the other hand, experts believe magnetism and earth energies are responsible for receiving a correct answer.

Whichever it is, it does work and has been used for as long as records have been kept, with the earliest depiction of a diviner going back over 8000 years!

Another name for it is radiesthesia, which was created at the beginning of the 19th century by a French priest, L’Abbe Bouly.

What do you use?

Pendulums or rods are generally preferred.

Pendulums can be made of wood or natural crystal, but indeed a key on a chain or any other item that can swing freely will do the job just as well.

Traditional rods or ‘L’ rods, as they are sometimes called, are made of naturally forked sticks, with hazel being favoured as it is so flexible.

Another popular material for the rods is metal, bent into an ‘L’ shape, with the smaller length being held by the person dowsing. It is a very good idea to place the rod handles into bamboo so they can move of their own accord easily.

Where to start?

After picking your preferred method, whichever one feels comfortable and right to you, it is absolutely crucial to have a still, quiet mind, basically in a neutral state.

It is not easy, or accurate, to dowse when you are worried about something or in a hurry or under pressure.

Pick a quiet spot, on your own, and practise deep, meaningful breathing for a few minutes, to calm your whole system down.

For beginners, it is preferable to sit, with your feet firmly on the ground.

If using a pendulum, the method is to grasp the chain or material the pendulum is suspended on, by your thumb and index finger, leaving about 5 inches of the chain hanging. Start it swinging in motion, towards and away from you.

If using rods, grasp them firmly, but lightly, by the handles, the longer part of it pointing forward and as horizontal as possible.

The first question to ask, and one which is individual to each person is “Show me the movement for yes”. After you get the response, then ask to be shown the movement for no. Typically, a pendulum will begin a definite clockwise circle for ‘yes’ and an anti-clockwise circle for ‘no’. Divining rods tend to move inwards for ‘yes’ and outwards for ‘no’. However, everyone is different, and your response may vary to these.

Once you have a definite response to these basic questions, you are ready to dowse. It’s as simple as that!

When testing for actual material items, such as choosing a homeopathic remedy or tissue salt or checking a food to see if you have a sensitivity to it, it is an advantage to dowse using a pendulum over the remedy.

If you are testing for someone else, you can either touch their arm while using the pendulum, or an item of their clothing – this is really just to make the connection on behalf of someone else.

Rods are well suited for checking the presence of geopathic stress or water, or indeed to find a lost item.

It will take practise and patience but amazing results are there for you to enjoy.
