Kilmainham Jail
by: Paul, Wigan

We went to Kilmainham in the early 1990's and found it fascinatingly spooky.
The amount of famous names in Irish History just added to it, and of course the yard where the 1916 Rebels were shot was amazing to be stood in.

I found Grace Plunketts cell to be particularly active in the feelings I got whilst in there.

Our tour guide lady was magnificent and a true expert on the jail and its prisoners.

At the time there was an old lady who lived accross the road from the jail who heard the exocution shots that killed James Connolly, she will have passed away years ago (she was in her early 80's then!) but she would talk to any visitors about what it was like to live there when the jail was open and in the aftermath of the rebellion.

An essential for any spirit hunters to visit.

Paul
