Book Review of: The Hidden Whisper by J.J. Lumsden

The Hidden Whisper is a novel about parapsychologist Dr. Luke Jackson who is swept up in a ghostly mystery on a trip to his grandfather’s funeral in Arizona. Strange happenings at a friend's house in town are causing concern – is it a curse or is it a particularly nasty poltergeist? Luke has only one week to solve the sinister puzzle before he has to leave. It’s a fast paced read and one of those books you just don’t want to put down!

Doing what we do here at Moonslipper, I like the fact that James Lumsden has explanations and reference to the many paranormal terms throughout the book in a section of end notes. ESP, psychokinesis, NDE's, afterlife evidence and psychics are some of the many subjects touched upon throughout the book.

It’s a believable read by Lumsden, who himself is a parapsychologist, which accounts for the ‘true life’ feeling thoughout the novel. The only problem is that I want to read the next installment – what does Luke get up to next on his travels?

For anyone interested in the paranormal and metaphysical, this is a super, fun book and one that I enjoyed immensely.

I would definitely recommend it and rate it:

Rating: 9/10
