Ghost Hair

I am presently living in Germany, literally in the back yard of an ancient tower which is part of the wall that once surrounded the town in 1100 AD.
I almost immediately began finding long red hairs, maybe one a day in various rooms of my home. Now I mostly find long black hairs. These hairs are 12 inches long. I have very short red hair, my husband short grey hair. Have not had any visitors that could account for the hair. I am saving them now, and plan on having DNA testing done on them. One hair came out of a wash cycle, waiting for me when I opened the front door to it. Another came out of the zipper of my blue jeans (in tact when I pulled it out), another on my husband's sweater in the car, on the floors after I mop. I am not scared, just very curious where they are coming from.
Do you have any suggestions, or have you ever heard of this type of thing before? I would really appreciate a reply.

(Hi Wanda, no, I have never heard of this type of phenomena before - it's very unusual. I'll do a bit of research and maybe some of Moonslipper's visitors might have heard about something similiar - we'll see! Thanks for the story. ~Siobhan)
