Civil War Soldier Ghost

by Lou
(Wilmington, DE)

Ghost of a bearded Civil War soldier with large hat, neck scarf and rank on his sleeve.

There are other images as well, but he stands out very clear.

Taken this month with a Kodak Easy Share which leaves a lot to be desired regarding quality. No particular reason for this shot, just random on a sunny, warm morning during the East Coast's heat-wave.

The really weird part is that it wasn't taken anywhere near a recognized battlefield, but on private residential property.

(Thanks for sending this in Lou - I'm afraid this is one of those pictures where I can't see anything! Let's see what our visitors think! ~Siobhan)

Sometimes he pops right out, but other times he hides!

I see him just left of center, in the top half. ~ Áine

Sorry, but the photo does appear to be too small once I viewed it on your site. I'll try to submit a larger version. Thanks, Siobhan.

Civil War Soldier Apparition

by Lou
(Wilmington, DE)

Captured this ghostly, semi-transparent civil war spirit recently while taking random pics. Used a Sony Cybershot, taken early morning in July. The freaky thing is, it's nowhere near any Civil War Battlefield. Maybe the spirits came home with me from Gettysburg...?

Civil War or WWI Spirit

by Lou
(Wilmington, DE)

Not sure which era this soldier's spirit is from since it could be CW or WWI. The soldier's eyes are closed and he's wearing a brown uniform. He seems to be "resting" in the tree, but appears to be corpse-like or even mummified. Taken in June with my Kodak Easyshare digital while taking random shots of the wooded area.

Civil War Spirit
by: Lou

Checked out the link you provided. It certainly could be a Confederate Soldier...only problem is, it's on private property far from any battlefield. The closest to me would be Gettysburg, PA and that's about 104 miles away.

I'm a Northern Yankee (by birth), but this isn't the first time I've captured a Confederate spirit.

Nice picture !

where was picture taken ? If in southern states it looks like civil war as they wore grey - Confederate solider . also on neck line it looks yellow indicating cavalry unit.

Confederate Soldier Spirit

by Lou
(Wilmington, DE)

Capture of a Confederate Soldier leaning over something, taken on the road out of Devil's Den. There seems to be a couple of other spirits as well that I didn't notice until reviewing the pics recently. The day was cloudy with occasional rain on one of my past annual weekend treks to Gettysburg in September. I was taking random shots from my mini-van with a Nikon E4600 pocket digital.

Civil War Soldier Ghost (2)

by Lou
(Wilmington, DE)

The first photo was too small to view, thanks to the heads-up from Siobhan. I'm submitting a cropped version which, hopefully, emphasizes the image I'm trying to convey, and get viewers to see. Unfortunately, I had to resize it a few times since it was too large to upload.

I have a photo from Seminary Ridge, Gettysburg similar to this. There is no doubt in my mind that this is a ghost.

Uniformed Revolutionary War Ghost?

by Lou
(Wilmington, DE)

Captured what appears to be a soldier in uniform, resembling the revolutionary style uniform with the cross-straps over the chest and the high helmet.

Reminds me of the Hessian-style, but I'm not familiar with that particular era in history.

By Moultrie Outdoor Game Camera on 8-03-11, cropped from the original.

The Bearded Solider

The Bearded Solider

This photo was taken in October of 2010 at about midnight on Sauchs covered bridge with a Blackberry storm 2 cell phone as you can see to the right of Doug stands a white haired solider with his havorsack or canteen and in period clothing.

Maybe I'm blind but all I can see is a white haired old man lighting a cigarette in a blue jacket. I can't see this ghost you're talking about. Please can someone point it out to me? :) cheers.

Sach's Bridge Ghost
by: Lou

Incredible capture. It's so realistic it could be mistaken for a faked, photoshopped version, but I've been to Gettysburg, so I know there are many spirits remaining after all these years. I've never seen one as clear as this...it's as if he was a real live re-enactor standing on the right side of the guy you were taking a picture of. Went to Sach's Bridge, but didn't get any anomalies...Devil's Den and The Wheatfield...another story!

I forgot to put in here that this picture was taken on Sachs covered bridge which is in Gettysburg Pa. the bridge is about 2 minutes away from the day 3 battlefield. This bridge was used by General Lee to retreat his troops back to Va. on July 4th 1863.

I have 2 more photo's from the second night we went to the bridge I will post them as Sachs bridge.
