Original figure... The owner in 2002...

In 2002, while I was doing my senior thesis paper for geography, my friend Tonya and I were taking numberous trips up to Las Vegas, NM. On one of the trips, we decided to stop at this cool looking bar that was inside an old hotel.
Hotel Castaneda used to be a booming hotel- one of the Harvey Girl's places of employment. There are numerous old pictures that include pictures of presidents, outlaws, and various other well-known people of the day.

The owner of the hotel back in 2002 was the sole occupant. At one point, she rented out the rooms as residences. The bar downstair was still open and absolutely amazing. All the old style artifacts still in place and beautifully designed.

My friend and I decided to roam around the outside and take some pictures. We took what was quite an odd looking figure. Seemed to look like two figures with faces blended in to the figure.

I talked with the owner and she agreed to give me a tour. I got some great shots of the aging shut-down hotel.

I'm posting the figure that we first saw, and then one of the shots I took on the tour. I took a lot of "orb" pictures during the tour, but the one I'm posting is the best.

I don't know if she sold the hotel since then. There was a historical society trying to save it from becoming offices.

It was truly an enchanting place to be. You could feel the energy throughout the hotel.

(Jennifer thanks so much for sending in these photos. We love haunted hotels here at Moonslipper and this has to be one of the best energy photos I've seen in a long time - excellent! ~Siobhan)
