How to Balance and Heal Your Chakras

Chakra locations chart

Find out how to balance and heal your chakras - it is a wonderful holistic way to look after your mental, physical and spiritual health.

What is a Chakra?

Chakra translates as 'rotating wheel' in Sanskrit, which is how each Chakra is viewed holistically – a spinning, sparkling, moving wheel of energy, specific to each chakra location.

Typically, a chakra is sensed energetically by scanning the body with your hands held just slightly above the person.

It is possible to drain the body of unhealthy, negative energy through the chakras and also to send positive, healing energy through them into the body.

They are located from the top of the body, at the skull, right down to the end of the spine.

There are seven main chakras, but it is believed by many holistic practitioners that there are up to an additional twenty two. We will be taking a look at the seven primary locations here and how to balance and heal your chakras.

Heal Your Chakras with Crystals

Treating with crystals is a truly effective and simple way to clear, balance and heal each chakra, as the energy exchanged between a crystal and a chakra is powerful.

A wonderful self-treatment to try is to lie down, making sure you are comfortable and warm, with an appropriate crystal placed at each chakra. Please remember that the crystals or stones do not have to be large or expensive!

Relax into the treatment visualizing and feeling all the chakras energizing and healing.

This treatment can take anywhere between ten minutes and two hours or more, completely depending on each individual's needs. Many people feel the stones icy cold on each chakra, which then turn warm gradually as the treatment continues. Others feel heat, then cold and some can feel a slight buzzing or vibration.

On the other hand, a person may feel nothing, but rest assure healing is taking place. Trust your instinct and intuition as to how long your treatment should be.
