Magical Recipes

We are delighted to share with you our Magical Recipes that have been handed down to us through the years. We will be adding further enchantments here in the next few weeks, be sure to check back!

PLEASE NOTE: Essential oils, herbs and plants must be used with extreme caution. With children, expectant and/or breastfeeding mums, and anyone suffering from ill health, please consult a reputable source to check contra-indications. NEVER ingest essential oils or incense ingredients and NEVER apply undiluted to skin.

Autumnal Faerie Mix Incense

”picture

  • 1 oz. Juniper berries (a tree sacred to the Druids and very magical)
  • 1 oz. Rosemary needles (used for remembrance at Samhain)
  • 1 oz. Frankincense powder
  • ˝ oz. Valerian root (great for love)
  • 10 drops rosewood essential oil, 5 drops myrrh essential oil, 5 drops lavender essential oil.
One of our favourite magical recipes, this makes a really intense, woodsy mix that appeals to those of the Fairy Kingdom. Place mixture, without grinding the mix, in an airtight glass jar, mixing very well. The longer it’s stored, the more it improves! Sprinkle carefully on a lit charcoal disc and enjoy.

  • 2 tablespoons fine brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅔ cup flour
  • ˝ teaspoon poppy seeds
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • Sunflower oil for frying

Mix the egg and the Muscat wine in a bowl. In a smaller bowl, mix together the flour, poppy seeds, cinnamon, sugar and salt. Stir this into the egg mixture. Let it stand for about ˝ hour. Combine the nutmeg and honey in a small bowl. Heat some oil in a frying pan (about ˝ inch in the bottom) until it’s hot. Drop the batter into the oil one generous spoonful each time and fry until golden. Place on paper towels to drain and then dip into the honey mix. Delicious!

A magical perfume oil to wear everyday. Please note that it should not be worn in the sun, as lemon and bergamot are highly photosensitive.

  • 1 teaspoon Jojoba oil
  • ˝ teaspoon Vodka
  • 1 drop Patchouli essential oil
  • 2 drops Lemon essential oil
  • 2 drops Myrtle essential oil
  • 2 drops Bergamot essential oil

Place the jojoba oil and vodka into a small, dark, coloured glass bottle with a dropper. Add the essential oils one drop at a time, mixing well.
