USS Lexington Ghost

USS Lexington Ghost

This photo is taken from the ghostcam on the USS Lexington ship. It is proven to be haunted. The ghost is wearing an old uniform that is probably from the 1800's or earlier. It really creeps me out!

(This is a fantastic ghost picture Lyndsey! The uniform is so clear - thanks for sending it in! ~Siobhan)

I think I captured a ghost in a photo
by: Erica from Canada

During my visit at the USS LEXINGTON, I took many pictures, I even took pictures in dark areas which people were not permitted to go. For example there was a rope closing off stairs that went down to a dark area. The only light in there was a window that was on the bottom of the wall close to the floor. This relected against the wall across... I took a picture without a flash and in that photo there was a ghost! It's as plain as day, it appeared to be walking by carrying something. It also resembled a guy wearing an apron and a chef's hat, he even looked like he may have had a mustache. Now my question is , "has anyone seen this or heard of a guy dressed like this"?

USS Lexington Ghost
by: Anonymous

It's a WWII soldier, and appears to be a young man in his field jacket and boots. I've checked out the ship's web cam several times but it doesn't seem to be functioning. Does anyone know if it's shut down?

Charlie
by: cassy

i've seen this ghost in person...no lie..i do believe who this person is. This is Charlie the ghost of the engine room. he's friendly and at times will give you a tour around the room...however, if u sit in his chair he'll get mad. anyways, i saw a comment about the ghost that it looked like a girl...zoom in a little more and u'll see that it's a man wearing a brown leather uniform with black boots, maybe a jetfighter who knows...yet, there are speculations that there was a woman on board the ship that sang the same night the ship was surprisingly attacked by a torpedo and died...stories say that she yells at night. yea i go to that boat all the time...i love learning about the paranormal but do have a lot of respect. i don't take cameras but i do talk to them.

you know its real!
by: crystal of rockport, tx.

I just happened to be browsing through this site and I saw this picture. And that is the first thing that popped out to me. It looks like a soldier in a uniform and you could see right through it , kind of. Like the pipes and stuff right behind it.All its features are very detailed from its facial features to the pockets on its uniform.A few weeks ago I went on a field trip to the Lexington with my son and his school. through out the whole way it was just so eerie. You could feel it.I am a paranormal freak and I have even gotten evidence of my own.But for all those people saying it is a fake, well its not! They are called GHOSTS!The things that go BUMP in the night! Thanks for such an awesome picture!

Sailor or reflection
by: Chris

I do believe that the USS Lexington has seen her share of death and tragic events. However, there could not be a sailor from the 1800's when the Lexington was built in 1941 and Commissioned in 1943. There is the engine room attendant who was killed while on duty and is reported to still be carring out his orders to maintain the engines... could this be him? or is it a reflection?

Authentic
by: Doris

When I opened this pic with MS Word, it showed absolutely NO signs of editing.
The only thing I would dispute is that, it looks to me more like a woman in a dress. I also see some mist going on here as well.
Congrats for a fantastic cap!

FAKE
by: Rachel

Its fake - you can notice that the person who did it put this "ghost" image over the original one. A simple trick used by the photo professionals. I'm not saying there aren't truly ghost pics, but 90% of then are either fake, or a missunderstood like light and optic illusions. It's a shame how people abuse on other's faith.

what is with the 1800's uniform?
by: Erin

why would he be wearing an 1800's uniform the lexington is from WWII

(Good point Erin! The ghosthunter part of me would believe that he is just on the ship, with no attachment to it, possibly he was in the area and just likes being there. The paranormal world is full of questions - which is why it's so controversial.)

Is it real?
by: Anonymous

Is the ghost real? Or is it a fallen angel in disguise? From the contents of the book The Bible and The Bermuda Triangle.
